Joe McNally is widely regarded as one of the most versatile and accomplished photographers working today. Over a career spanning more than 40 years and 70+ countries, his photography has been featured in iconic publications such as Life, Sports Illustrated, and National Geographic. For National Geographic, McNally has shot five cover stories and is responsible for producing the publication’s very first package to feature digital photography, a milestone significant enough to be incorporated into the archives of the U.S. Library of Congress.

McNally has also shot covers for TIME, Newsweek, Fortune, and The New York Times Sunday Magazine, among many others. A proud Nikon Ambassador, Joe is renowned for his mastery of light and his ability to bring both technical precision and deep humanity to every frame. He has been named one of the 100 Most Important People in Photography by American Photo and was voted one of the 30 most influential photographers of the decade in a Photo District News industry survey. In addition to his shooting career, Joe is a celebrated educator and author, with books including The Moment It Clicks, The Hot Shoe Diaries, and Sketching Light.
