OWC's Standard Return for Replacement Policy

OWC HAS SPECIFIC RETURN POLICIES THAT APPLY TO SPECIFIC PRODUCT TYPES. THE BELOW IS OWC's STANDARD RETURN POLICY FOR REPLACEMENT. PLEASE CONSULT YOUR USER MANUAL AND THE APPROPRIATE SECTION OF THIS POLICY FOR TERMS PERTAINING TO YOUR SPECIFIC PRODUCT.

OWC recognizes that life's not perfect and that sometimes things need to be replaced. OWC will be happy to offer replacements for defective products within a 30-day period. After 30 days, the manufacturer's warranty may apply.

OWC acknowledges that our customers are busy people. That's why OWC extends our customers a full 30 days from the original invoice date (ship date of the order) to contact OWC Customer Support and request a Return Merchandise Authorization ("RMA"). By that same token, OWC accepts product returns received within 40 days of the original invoice date that have a valid RMA number and contain all original components. To ensure customer satisfaction, all internal hard drives carry an extended 90-day replacement policy.

Should you encounter an issue with your purchase, please review all relevant literature, visit the OWC Customer Support Page for helpful videos, additional information on your purchase, and to contact OWC Customer Support. We will be more than happy to troubleshoot your issue in order to gain a successful resolution. If, upon initial opening of the package, the purchased product appears damaged or is otherwise believed to have a technical issue or defect, contact OWC Customer Support immediately, and in no case more than 48 hours after receipt of the product. OWC will issue you an RMA and instruct you how to return your product to resolve the issue. An OWC Tech will verify the product's defect or damage prior to a replacement being sent out.

OWC understands that sometimes our customers purchase something and find the product does not meet their needs. Simply contact OWC within 30 days of the original invoice date should you need to return an item and wish to replace it with something else. You may contact OWC Customer Support through any of the methods provided on the OWC Return Request Form.

If you wish to receive your new item before returning the original item, you may place a new order with us online or through an OWC Customer Representative and request a refund for the original order at that time. All international and/or SPO shipping charges, including Returns for Warranty or Returns for Refund, are the sole responsibility of the customer.

OWC will us its best efforts to replace any product found to be defective with the same product model. When a direct replacement for the exact model number or part number is not available, OWC reserves the right to replace it with an equivalent or higher graded item or model number. At OWC's sole discretion, in the event that an acceptable product replacement cannot be found, a refund may be offered.

All product returns require an RMA number which you may obtain by contacting OWC Customer Support within 30 days of the original invoice date through any of the methods provided on the OWC Return Request Form.

For Defective/DOA items (within 15 days of purchase) OWC may offer to cover shipping back to OWC for customers in the Continental US. Please contact OWC Customer Support for more information.

OWC's goal is to make the return process simple, hassle-free, and speedy. To ensure that our customers receive such service, OWC kindly asks that all items shipped back follow these RMA guidelines:

  • Products that are not eligible for return will be sent back to you at your own expense. Ineligible products include, but are not limited to:
    • Any product not purchased from MacSales.com;
    • Any product without a valid, readable serial number, including but not limited to products with missing, damaged, altered, or otherwise unreadable serial number;
    • Any product missing parts and/or components;
    • Any product from which the UPC code has been removed from its packaging;
    • Any product that exhibits physical damage;
    • Any product that has been used for “Mining” (e.g., Cryptocurrency, Data Mining, Mining Farms); OR
    • Any product for which you have submitted a mail-in rebate.
  • Before returning an item, please ensure that:
    • Your return item contains all of the original components;
    • The RMA number is clearly marked on the outside of the returned packaging; AND
    • You have included a copy of the original invoice inside the return packaging.

OWC's Standard Return for Refund Policy

OWC HAS SPECIFIC RETURN POLICIES THAT APPLY TO SPECIFIC PRODUCT TYPES. BELOW IS OWC'S STANDARD RETURN POLICY FOR REFUND – PLEASE CONSULT YOUR USER MANUAL AND THE APPROPRIATE SECTION OF THIS POLICY FOR TERMS PERTAINING TO YOUR PRODUCT.

OWC recognizes that sometimes customers' wants and needs change and they may need to return a purchase. OWC would be pleased to assist you with a return for refund of many of our products within 30 calendar days. Availability for refund is determined at OWC's sole discretion.

OWC acknowledges that our customers are busy people. That's why OWC extends our customers a full 30 days from the original invoice date (ship date of the order) to contact OWC Customer Support and obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization ("RMA"). By that same token, OWC will accept product returns received within 40 days from the original invoice date that have a valid RMA number and contain all original components. To ensure customer satisfaction, all internal hard drives carry an extended 90-day replacement policy.

  • Orders cancelled after processing (order has been placed, invoiced and/or shipped) AND unopened items are subject to a 5% restocking fee. Excludes custom, bulk and Modbook orders. Refused shipments are subject to return freight charges.
  • Opened items are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

All refunds will be processed based on the following:

  • Goods received complete WITHIN 15 days of the original invoice date will receive a refund minus all applicable restocking fees (as noted above) of the invoiced purchase price.
  • Goods received complete AFTER 15 days, but WITHIN 30 days of the original invoice date, will receive the lesser of either the current selling price on the day the item is delivered to our warehouse or the original price as noted on the invoice.

Partial order returns on orders that were extended a shipping or other promotional discount will proportionally have such a discounts deducted from the refund.

All authorized refunds will be refunded via the method of payment originally billed. Please note that OWC will process all refunds within 48 hours of receipt of returned goods. All refunds are subject to the financial institutions' processing timelines. OWC is happy to answer any questions regarding our portion of the refund processing, but you may need to contact your financial institution for more details.

Freight is non-refundable. Customer is always responsible for safe return of goods and selecting proper return shipping insurance.

For Defective/DOA items (within 15 days of purchase) we may, at our option, cover shipping back to OWC for customers in the Continental US.

Items returned incomplete and/or not in original condition may be subject to additional fees, or returned to the customer as non-refundable.

We are NOT able to offer refunds for displays, computers, clearance items, or opened/used media, consumables, or software. Restrictions apply to returns on special/custom orders and bulk orders. Please contact OWC Customer Support for more information.

Internal Hard Drives

For internal hard drives, OWC is proud to offer an extended replacement window of 90 days. Once a return number has been issued and we receive the drive, you will be sent a brand new replacement drive, rather than a factory refurbished drive if you originally purchased a new drive.

Apple Computers, Displays, Tablets, and iPhones

We make it easy to setup a hassle-free return.

  1. Request your return via our online return form.
    You can also ask for a replacement instead of a refund. Subject to availability.

    For return requests within 14 days from the original invoice date (ship date of the order):
    • A small $25 fee will be applied.
    • Or a 15% fee will be applied to:
      • New or refurbished factory-sealed Mac that has been opened / unsealed.
      • If your return is received after your return deadline but within 24 days of you original invoice.

    For return requests within 15-30 days from the original invoice date (ship date of the order):
    • A 15% fee will be applied.
    • Or a 25% fee (up to rejection of the return) will be applied to:
      • New or refurbished factory-sealed Mac that has been opened / unsealed.
      • Returns received damaged, incomplete, missing contents or missing original OWC / retail box.
      • If your return is received after your return deadline.

  2. We'll send you an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) that's good for 10 days.
    This will include your RMA number, and shipping info.

  3. Send us your return.
    • Include the RMA number on the shipping box so we can process your return.
    • Please select a shipping method that delivers your return within the return window. (10 days from RMA creation)
    • Be sure to pack your return properly so it doesn't get damaged.
    • We recommend you insure your shipped item(s). OWC is not responsible for any lost or damaged packages.

  4. We'll promptly issue your refund once we receive and verify your return.
    We don't want anything to delay or prevent your return. To ensure a smooth return process, please use the original packaging to return your order in the same condition it was received, and include everything such as cables, manuals, etc.

Solid State Drives (SSD)

For solid state drives, should you need to return or exchange your product, please contact OWC Customer Support within 30 days of the original invoice date (ship date of the order).

Once a return number has been issued, and the product is received by OWC, we will issue you a credit (minus the restocking fee) or, if there was an issue with the drive that can be confirmed, you will receive a brand new replacement drive, rather than a factory refurbished drive if your original drive was sold as new.

Please return any products with all of the original packaging so that we can ensure all requests are processed with speed! Please contact OWC Customer Support.

30-Day Money Back Guarantee for OWC SSDs

If you are not completely satisfied with your OWC Mercury Electra 3G, OWC Mercury Electra 6G, or OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G SSD for any reason, simply contact OWC Customer Support within 21 days of the original invoice date to request a full refund. No hassle, no restocking fees - that's the OWC Difference.

Limit 2 refunds per customer and/or billing address. Offer only valid for OWC Mercury Electra 3G, OWC Mercury Electra 6G and OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G models. This offer is NOT valid on ANY other OWC brand SSD, including OWC Aura Pro, Legacy, and RE SSDs.

All Money Back Guarantee requests must be received within 30 days of the original invoice date. Memory

All memory purchased is subject to OWC's Standard Return Policies and the original manufacturer's warranty

Items covered by this policy must be returned to OWC within 30 days of the original invoice date (ship date of the order) for this policy to apply. "Return" constitutes receipt of the product by OWC, and not the mere issuance of an RMA.

The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will result in the item being returned to you:

  • Any memory exhibiting physical damage.
  • Modules that are missing the manufacturer's label containing model number and part number.
  • Modules that are missing the manufacturer warranty label.
  • Modules that were shipped with a manufacturer-applied heat spreader, but have had the heat spreader removed.
  • "Kit" Modules (which contain 2 or more memory modules packaged together) that are not returned as complete set.
  • USB "thumb" drives that are returned without the cap or protective casing.

Software

  • Return Retail Software for refund within: 30 days (must be unopened)
  • Return OEM Software for refund within: non-refundable
  • Return Defective (Retail or OEM) Software for replacement within: 30 days
  • Return Electronically Delivered Software for Refund: Non-Refundable

Due to licensing and copyright laws, we do not accept returns on software once a package has been opened either in the case of a physical copy or when the serial key for a digital download has been provided (whether used or not). Defective software will be exchanged for the same title only within 30 days of the original invoice date (ship date of the order).

After 30 days, the product manufacturer warranty is the only warranty in effect. Terms and conditions may vary by title or manufacturer. Please contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for additional information on the product warranty.

Items covered by this policy must be returned to OWC within 30 days of the original invoice date (ship date of the order) for this policy to apply. Products covered by this return policy may only be returned for a refund. "Return" constitutes receipt of the product by OWC, and not the mere issuance of an RMA.

The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will result in the item being returned to you:

  • Software items that have been opened (if requesting a refund).
  • Software items lacking the original packaging.
  • Software items digitally downloaded (whether serial key is used or not).

Mail-In Rebates

Any product offering a mail-in rebate is not returnable to OWC once the rebate has been filed. Be sure that the product is functional and that you intend to keep the product before sending in for your rebate. Products missing UPC codes or serial numbers from the box are NOT returnable. Only the product manufacturer can replace a defective item missing the UPC code. Please note return shipping is not included/provided by OWC.

Combo Specials

Combo Specials include two items that must be purchased together in order to receive a discount. Combo items may be returned for replacement within their applicable OWC Return Policy Period. If a Combo item is returned for a refund, the Combo Discount will be voided, and the discount amount will be deducted from the amount of the refund. (For example, if your combo discount was $5, and you return one of the combo items for a refund, the $5 will be deducted from your RMA refund amount.)

Out-of-Stock (Back-Order Items)

If OWC no longer carries an item that is sent in for replacement, or if that item is simply out of stock. you will be notified via email of two options:

  • OWC can send you a comparable replacement item; OR
  • OWC can issue you a refund at the current market value of the product. A current-market-value refund may not exceed the original invoice price. If the item is returned within 30 days of the original invoice date, a full refund will be issued minus applicable restocking fees.

Quantity Purchases

While OWC is more than happy to fill your order for a quantity of ten (10) or more of any given item in our inventory on a single purchase order, please understand that an order of that size, once purchase is completed, is automatically non-refundable. All other specific conditions related to the ordered item still apply, including any and all stipulations relative to any available replacement return policies. Due to APC's return policies, products that have been opened cannot be directly returned to OWC. This applies even if the product is not defective and the reason for return is that the incorrect application size/capacity was purchased. Factory sealed product may be returned to OWC within the normal OWC 30 day period.

Intel® Boxed Processors

Items covered by this policy must be returned to OWC within 30 days of the original invoice date (ship date of the order) for this policy to apply. Products covered by this return policy may only be returned for a replacement of the same or equivalent item within 30 days of the original invoice date. OWC reserves the right to reject any Intel Boxed Processors found to be damaged directly by the customer and outside of the original Intel warranty. "Return" constitutes receipt of the product by OWC, and not the mere issuance of an RMA.

All damaged merchandise is subject to the manufacturer's original warranty, which can be found on Intel's website, http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-009862.htm.

All returns made are subject to RMA guidelines stated in OWC's Standard Return Policies.

The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will result in the item being returned to you:

Clearance/Bargain Items

  • All sales are final.

Clearance/bargain items are indicated with a "(*)" in the beginning of their description line. Such items are provided on a first-come first-served basis

Clearance items indicated by the "(*)" are subject to special sale terms. Sales of clearance items are final. Where an OWC warranty is applicable and listed, items may be returned with an RMA to be repaired/replaced/refunded at OWC's discretion during OWC's warranty term. Items listed with a Manufacturer's warranty are subject to the Manufacturer's warranty fulfillment terms.

Clearance items listed are available for online/web purchases only. As orders are placed, the system will update to display the available clearance items remaining. Because clearance inventory is kept separate from our normal inventory, please allow an extra 1 to 3 days for the processing and shipping of any order that includes clearance product(s). You may contact OWC Customer Support with any questions concerning clearance items or clearance item policy.

Bulk Items

  • Return for refund within: non-refundable unless shipment is refused
  • Return for replacement within: non-replaceable

Bulk Items cannot be returned to OWC for refund or replacement service. Therefore, you are urged to carefully examine the box your bulk item ships in before signing for the package. Should you observe any damage to the shipping box, or if the wrong product was sent, you must refuse delivery while the shipping courier is still on the premises. The item will be returned to OWC and you will be refunded the full amount, including applicable shipping costs and tax.

  • Restocking fee: 25% (regardless of reason for return)

Freight is non-refundable. Customer is always responsible for safe return of goods and selecting proper return shipping insurance.

Items returned incomplete and/or not in original condition may be subject to additional fees, or returned to the customer as non-refundable.

Plasma TVs and accessories like mounting brackets and speakers relating to them are not returnable to OWC for any reason.

The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will result in the item being returned to you:

  • Any LCD screen with fewer than 8 dead pixels.
  • Any monitor that has been found to be damaged due to physical abuse or misuse.

Restored iPads

OWC is proud to offer thoroughly inspected & tested Restored iPads. Should you need to return or exchange your product, please contact OWC Customer Support within 30 days of the original invoice date (ship date of the order). Once an RMA number has been issued, and the product has been received by OWC, we will issue you credit (minus the restocking fee).

Please return your purchase with all of the original components and packaging, so that we can ensure all requests are processed with speed!

14-Day Money Back Guarantee for Restored iPads

If you are not completely satisfied with your Restored iPad for any reason, simply contact OWC Customer Support within 14 days of the original invoice date to request a full refund. No hassle, no restocking fees – that's the OWC Difference.

Limit 2 refunds per customer and/or billing address.


To be Eligible for 100% refund:

  • You must request an RMA for the Restored iPad within 14 days of the original invoice date.
  • The Restored iPad must be returned/delivered back to OWC with the OWC provided RMA# within no longer than 10 Calendar Days from the day the RMA has been issued.
  • The Restored iPad must be returned complete in original provided condition, in the original OWC iPad box, with the original contents and protective packaging.

Any Restored iPads returned incomplete, not confirming with the above will be subjected to 15% restocking and deductions for missing contents. After 30 days returns for refund are not accepted, and replacement will be provided as per the 90 Day OWC Warranty.
