Have you ever wanted a tiny and cute mini collectable version of your favorite Nikon cameras to, you know, keep with you for moral and creative support? Well, if you live in the United States, you’re about to be in luck.
Initially available only in Japan, Nikon’s miniature collection is set to be introduced to the US, featuring two classic analog cameras and two modern Nikon cameras, all paired with popular lenses to create some fun combinations.
Developed in collaboration with the Japanese entertainment company Bandai Namco, these new camera miniatures are available in “gashapon” vending machines in Japan and will soon be available in the United States as well.
Let’s take a look at these cute lil’ guys to see if they might be fun gifts for yourselves or any Nikon shooter friends or family.

Nikon Mini Cameras
Referred to as “gashapon” or “gachapon” vending machines in Japan, these Nikon camera mini collectables have proven to be popular with Nikon shooters and fans. The miniatures feature a removable lens and body cap, and come with a set of small stickers that can be used further to customize the look of each of these mini cameras.
Nikon fans in Japan and the United States can choose from the following four options:
- Nikon F with a Nikkor-S Auto 55mm f/1.2 lens
- Nikon SP with a W-Nikkor 3.5cm f/1.8 prime lens
- Nikon Zfc with a Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens
- Nikon Z9 with a Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S pro zoom lens
Perhaps even tinier than you’d expect, these Bandai Namco miniatures will reportedly measure in at only approximately 20 millimeters (or just 0.8 inches) tall.
Where to Find These Nikon Mini Cameras
Since opening its first capsule shop in the US, in LA, two years ago, Bandai Namco has expanded its stores to now offer 28 Bandai Gashapon shops in the United States and Canada, with additional machines available in another 166 locations.
The capsule machines accept tokens, which can be purchased for approximately $8 per pull. If you’d like to find out more info about these Nikon mini cameras and where to find a capsule shop near you, check out Bandai Gashapon’s website here.
