Featuring improved features for video, photo, and audio capture, Insta360 might have finally cracked the action camera game with its latest GO Ultra option. Designed to make capturing your next adventure a breeze while still maintaining a sophisticated level of high-quality imagery, Insta360 has made its deepest push into the action cam market, long dominated by GoPro.
Let’s look at the new Insta360 GO Ultra and one of its killer features, as its Enhanced PureVideo Mode looks to be an impressive way to take your action and adventure videography to the next level.
The New Insta360 GO Ultra is Here
Featuring the aforementioned PureVideo Mode, which we’ll explore a bit more below, the Insta360 GO Ultra also features a 2.5" flip touchscreen, four audio capture modes, and a longer battery life are among some of the expanded features of the GO Ultra.
For video specifically, the GO Ultra can shoot up to 4K60 video and 50MP with its increased 1/1.28" image sensor that now lets in double the amount of light compared to the GO Ultra's predecessor for improved low-light performance, especially when shooting in 2.7K PureVideo Mode.
These updates will help ensure clarity and detail are not compromised, even when shooting in the evening or in dimly lit spaces. Insta360 further shares that additional hardware considerations include an optimized AI chip and a new ambient light sensor as well.
Enhanced PureVideo Mode
One of the highlights of this new camera are the new creative effects and modes. Along with several others, the GO Ultra offers core video recording modes including PureVideo, FreeFrame, TimeShift, Toddler Titan, Time-Lapse, Loop Recording, and Slow Motion. Additional modes like Pre-Recording and Interval Video ensure you don't miss any of the action.
The Enhanced PureVideo Mode should be helpful for travel videographers and vloggers looking to get the best quality video for all of their adventures. The GO Ultra also offers lossless 2x zoom that will help you capture intricate details without distortion.
There are also some new recording modes and algorithm optimizations for enhanced audio capture, as users will be able to select between Wind Reduction, Active Wind Reduction, Stereo, and Voice Enhancement modes.
Bluetooth connectivity built into the GO Ultra also allows you to directly connect to third-party microphones for an expanded audio experience.
