One of the most popular cameras on the planet, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is a diminutive yet powerful option for video creators of all levels. Still, for more serious videographers and content creators, it doesn’t quite look (or at times function) like your higher-end camera systems.
However, there’s now a solution. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 can be transformed into a box-style camera by equipping it with this incredible (and maybe slightly ridiculous?) cinema housing solution. ZOSS has just expanded its OSMODO Rig Line to include the Osmo Pocket 3. Let’s explore how to upgrade the look, style, and functionality of this popular action and vlogging camera for your higher-end projects and shoots.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Box-Style Cinema Housing
Designed to re-body the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 in a box-style cinema housing that’s much more purpose-built and expandable for additional accessories and add-ons, the OSMODO Rig Line option brings a squared geometry to the Osmo Pocket 3, which is greatly appreciated by more serious videographers.
The OSMODO Box-Style Housing Rig for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 clears space for cables, mics, battery banks, and lights while also stabilizing the camera for your diverse handheld and high-action shot types.
The rig features a front removable lens that can natively support 82mm filters and 95mm matte boxes. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 easily docks into a cartridge that slides through an internal hood, nestling into the housing. This clean, repeatable setup blocks backside reflection, leaving you with more freedom and expandability.
Price and Availability
The OSMODO Rig for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 comes in two options. Interested videographers can opt for a pre-built rig, which retails for $650 and arrives assembled with dual handles, NATO rail, top handle, NP-F plate & battery, mini tripod, and MagSafe phone mount.
Alternatively, they can opt for an unbuilt version, which allows you, the shooter, to customize it as you build out the rig yourself and choose which modifications you want or need. This version starts at only $109 and can be an excellent investment for those looking for even more flexibility in their rig design.
You can find out more info about these rig options on the ZOSS website here.
