OWC Helps Bring Professional Filmmaking to High School Cinema Workshop

During the summer of 2021, the Poway Unified School District in San Diego held a 10-day Arts, Media, and Entertainment Summer Cinema Workshop. The project brought together industry veterans, pro-level gear, and a group of creative high school students from across the Poway Unified School District (PUSD). The plan was to write, shoot, edit and premiere a short film in under two weeks.

The team recognized that COVID had robbed these students of a year of learning and training in production. In this way, maybe they could help these ambitious students make up for some lost time. Their short film is titled The Sidekick, and it’s a really fun film, check it out.
