Other World Computing Drops Prices on External FireWire Drives
Company reduces Mercury Elite Pro storage line prices by as much as $50

Other World Computing (OWC) today reduced prices on all of the company’s Mercury Elite Pro external FireWire storage solutions, which feature some of the industry’s largest and fastest hardware components. The new prices are from $20 to $50 dollars lower, and are a direct result of OWC’s efforts to pass any savings it gains through volume purchases on to its customers.
New pricing for the Mercury Elite Pro FireWire models is as follows:

And while the previous prices represented a great value, the new prices on our Mercury Elite Pro FireWire storage solutions are an even better value because we are passing the savings directly on to our customers.”
The Mercury Elite Pro hard drives configured with 8MBs of high-performance cache offer significant data transfer benefits in both burst data and sustained overall performance when compared to models with 2MBs of cache. Each Mercury Elite Pro drive measures 1.5-inches x 9.0-inches x 5.5-inches and weighs less than three pounds. The convenient plug-and-play capability of the Mercury Elite Pros also allows for easy transfer and connection to and from office, home or off-site presentation computers.
All Mercury Elite Pro drives ship with Intech HD SpeedTools, a FireWire cable, external power adaptor and a two-year OWC warranty. The drives are compatible with Mac OS 8.6 and up, and Windows 98, 2000 and XP.
The Mercury Elite Pro FireWire drives are available exclusively through OWC at www.macsales.com. OWC also offers a variety of FireWire interface cards for desktop and notebook computers. Evaluation units are available for credentialed media upon request.
