Field Gear

Workstation Gear

This is something I desperately need to address! My RAID system is aging and part of my legacy items in past work with SanDisk GTech.

Tips, Tricks, and Gear

I am going from location independent to having a home base while traveling full-time. How do I convert from a fully mobile backup solution to a mobile plus RAID archiving solution? This is something I both need to do and would love to write about doing.

Workflow

Fujifilm GFX 100s or Fujifilm X-H2 to Atlas Ultra cards, import to MacBook Pro to a local drive, backed up to an OWC Envoy.

When I'm working on a TV show or video project that requires traveling with a crew, I use the same workflow but also shoot in backup mode to capture the data to two OWC Atlas Memory Cards at once. At the end of each day, I capture the images from card 1 and hand card 2 to the video team to create a parallel backup. If we're trying to produce dailies and/or rough cuts, I shoot Raw + Jpeg so they can cut in the jpeg images right away and we can replace them with the edited versions later.
