Instagram has officially launched Edits, a powerful new video editing app designed to rival TikTok’s CapCut and empower creators with professional-grade tools—all from their phones. Available now on iOS and Android, Edits is free to download and aims to streamline the mobile content creation process for Reels, Shorts, and beyond.

Edits arrives at a pivotal moment when short-form video dominates online engagement. Unlike Instagram’s built-in editor, Edits is a standalone app offering advanced features like AI-powered animation, which brings still images to life, and green screen and subject cutout tools for seamless background changes. Additionally, it provides frame-accurate timeline editing, ensuring precise control over your content.
