In the age of ever-expanding video resolution recording capabilities in cameras, video editors are being asked to upgrade their gear to handle 6K footage, 3D models, and other high-end visual effects applications.
And while this might be good news to some video editors eager to expand their skillsets (and, ideally, their income), it also means that upgrading your workspace becomes a necessity. To help high-end video editors prepare for the next generation of visual effects and editing workflows, LG has released a new UltraFine 6K HDR Monitor that is up to the task.
Let’s look at the new LG UltraFine 32U990A-S 31.5" 6K HDR Monitor in particular and explore what this new option can offer for high-end video editing, 3D modeling, and other advanced video effect applications.
LG UltraFine 6K HDR Monitor
Set to offer a professional display capable of UHD 6K 6144 x 3456 resolution that can deliver exceptional visual clarity with accurate 10-bit color, this 31.5” version of LG’s UltraFine 6K HDR Monitor brings a new level of sophistication for your high-end editing workspaces.
Featuring Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, editors can transfer video at up to 80 Gb/s of data. The monitor will also provide 96W of power over a single cable with compatible laptops, making it an ideal centerpiece for your workstation, as DisplayPort and HDMI inputs are also available.
The LG UltraFine 6K HDR Monitor also features 5W stereo speakers that should further enhance its sound performance and overall editing capabilities.
Accurate Color and 6K Resolution
Cutting a quite extreme silhouette with its slim frame, the LG UltraFine 6K HDR Monitor is capable of delivering true 10-bit color with 98% DCI-P3 and 99.5% Adobe RGB coverage. The monitor also boasts 224 pixels per inch, and its 6K resolution offers approximately 150% more pixels than 4K displays and around three times more than Full HD monitors, ensuring sharp text and images.
This high resolution also provides a larger canvas to work with, reducing the need to pan and zoom.
Users can also further enhance their multitasking by controlling up to two devices in picture-by-picture or picture-in-picture modes thanks to a built-in KVM that can be accessed using a single mouse and keyboard connected through the monitor.
