Yes. OWC USB4 Hub runs at full USB4 speed on any USB4-equipped laptop and is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3, 4, and 5 hosts.

Can I connect two fast storage devices at the same time?

Yes, you can connect a card reader and an SSD and use them both simultaneously.

Do I need an adapter to connect a monitor?

No. OWC USB4 Hub has a built-in HDMI 2.1 port, so a monitor connects directly with a standard HDMI cable.

Can I use the full 40Gb/s bandwidth across both USB4 ports?

Yes. The OWC USB4 Hub provides up to 40Gb/s of total bandwidth across its two downstream USB4 ports, with up to 20Gb/s available to each port. This makes it easy to run two high speed USB4 devices at the same time and take advantage of the hub’s available bandwidth. For maximum performance from a single USB4 storage device, a direct host connection is recommended.

  1. Backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 3, 4, and 5 devices and standard USB-C peripherals at up to 10Gb/s. The RTS5490 USB4 hub controller delivers up to 20Gb/s to the downstream USB4 ports. Users connecting USB4 storage to these ports will see reduced transfer speeds compared to a direct host connection. For maximum USB4 storage performance, a direct host connection is recommended.
