Other World Computing Reduces Pricing on 7200RPM Mercury Elite Pro FireWire+USB Combo Drives
Widespread savings by as much as 10 percent increase value of top-rated external storage solutions

Other World Computing (OWC) today announced it has reduced prices by as much as 10 percent on many of its 7200RPM Mercury Elite Pro FireWire 800+400/USB 2.0+1.1 and FireWire 400/USB 2.0+1.1 external storage solutions. The updated pricing is effective immediately online through OWC at www.macsales.com/firewire.
Mercury Elite Pro FireWire drives are available in 40 Gigabyte (GB) to 320GB capacities spinning at 5400- and 7200RPM, with FireWire 400 + USB models starting at $136.99 and FireWire 800 + USB units priced from $199.99. The largest price reduction is found on the 160GB 7200RPM FireWire 800+400/USB 2.0+1.1 solution with an 8 Megabyte (MB) data buffer, now reduced to $259.99 from $289.99.

Other newly priced FireWire 800+400/USB 2.0+1.1 solutions include the 200GB 7200RPM unit reduced to $309.99 from $329.99, and the 250GB 7200RPM unit now available for $379.99 down from $399.99. Both units feature a 8MB data buffer. Substantial reductions can also be found in the FireWire 400/USB 2.0+1.1 line of Mercury Elite Pro storage solutions.
Each Mercury Elite drive measures 1.5-inches x 9.0-inches x 5.5-inches and weighs less than three pounds. Mercury Elite drives ship with Intech HD SpeedTools, Dantz Retrospect Express backup and restore software, a FireWire cable and an external power adaptor, and come with a two-year OWC warranty. The drives are compatible with Apple OS 8.6 through 9.2.2, all versions of Apple OS X up to and including 10.3.x “Panther,” and Windows 98, 2000 and XP operating systems.
