Other World Computing (OWC®) http://www.macsales.com, a leading zero emissions Mac® and PC technology company, announced today that it has been featured in the inaugural ranking of Inc.'s Hire Power Awards, an awards program created to recognize privately-held businesses that have created the most new jobs in the past three years. Other World Computing increased its full-time professional staff by 36 percent from 2008 to 2011, placing it among the top three job creators within the computer hardware industry. To qualify for the list, businesses must be U.S.-based, be founded in 2007 or earlier, and have had at least 50 employees as of December 31, 2011.

More than 400 companies were honored with Hire Power Awards spanning all types of businesses and industries. Among the winners were GoDaddy.com, Smile Brands, and Smashburger. The Hire Power Awards will appear in Inc.'s December/January issue, as well as the brand's web site, www.inc.com.

"The top 100 companies on the list have created 73,032 American jobs in the three-year period from 2008 to 2011 – an amazing feat, given that much of that job growth came during the heart of the recession," said Inc. editor-in-chief Eric Schurenberg. "And it isn't just the big guys that are adding jobs. Companies with less than $50 million in annual revenue make up nearly one-third of the Hire Power list."

According to Inc. president Robert LaPointe, the jobs OWC and the other companies making up the list created in those three years add up to about $5 billion in tax revenue.

"We are thrilled to be honored by Inc. as one of America's top job creators," said Larry O'Connor, Founder and CEO, Other World Computing. "In a difficult economy, we are proud that we are able to provide opportunities for employment, and our continued growth is a testament to our team's hard work and commitment to making the 'OWC Difference' everyday for our customers around the world."

Other World Computing was also recently recognized by Inc. 5000 as one of the "Fastest Growing Privately Owned Companies in America" for the sixth consecutive year. To see OWC's company profile and a list of its honors from Inc., visit www.inc.com/profile/other-world-computing.
