Other World Computing today announced it is significantly enhancing its highly acclaimed Mercury On-The-Go line by adding 80 and 100 Gigabyte (GB) models that spin at 7200RPM, as well as updating its 60GB model with the most cutting-edge data transfer technology available. These new models provide the highest performance ever available in a pocket-sized package and can read and write data up to 10 percent faster than previous 7200RPM models.
The On-The-Go ultra-portable external storage solution line is meticulously designed for maximum functionality and convenience on the go, and has been recognized by MacAddict, Macworld, Maximum PC and others for its value and performance. The new models set the bar even higher and handle the most intense audio and video projects with greater ease.

The 7200RPM Mercury On-The-Go drives feature 8 Megabytes (MB) of cache and are available with either a FireWire-only interface or with both FireWire and Universal Serial Bus (USB) interfaces. They are built using shock isolation technology to provide maximum protection and peace of mind.

All Mercury On-The-Go drives measure 3.5-inches x 5.5-inches x 1-inch, weigh less than 12 ounces and ship with carrying case, FireWire cable, USB Cable, EMC/Dantz Retrospect and Intech Speed Tools. The custom Oxford bridge solution ensures maximum reliability as well as performance. They also are covered by a one-year warranty and officially supported by Dantz Retrospect with the EMC/Dantz Retrospect Backup Certification
On-The-Go plug-and-play drives are compatible with all Apple OS Versions 8.5 through 9.2.x; Apple OS X 10.0.3 and higher (including OS X 'Tiger' 10.4.x); Microsoft Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP; any OS or electronic device with FireWire and/or USB data ports, including digital video and still cameras.
